How to Fix the Pinky
Today I used a new technique for my student to encourage relaxation of the fifth finger. I put a googly eye sticker on it! Rather than ask repeatedly to curve the pinky, the sticker did the trick. In fact, it was a lightly amusing way to encourage good form!

COMPETITION DAY
Today my girls are at our local college competing at a special strings competition. In fact, they are actually competing against each other! However, the two girls are not at each other’s throats, they are helping to support one another. It is gratifying to see how this event turned out to be a bonding experience from which they may learn and grow. Most importantly, they will grow closer as siblings and create more memories that will last a lifetime.

Today is the big day! It’s audition time for the Kids On Stage program with the New York Pops. We worked on two octave scales, three octave chromatic, a prepared piece and sight reading.
